The Alabama Community College System (ACCS) recently recognized 48 students for their outstanding academic achievements, with two of those students being from Wallace State Community College. At the 30th annual All-Alabama Academic Team Recognition Program, two students from each of the 24 community colleges in Alabama received scholarship awards totaling $61,250.

At the ceremony, Wallace State President Dr. Vicki Karolewics joined Susan Price, ACCS Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff, in presenting Delgado and Wilt with their awards. “Today’s accolades demonstrate the dedication and hard work of our students, signifying the high standards of excellence upheld by the ACCS,” said Jimmy H. Baker, Chancellor of the ACCS. “I am proud of both the faculty and students, whose tremendous efforts make these achievements and this event possible.”
Delgado’s Academic Plans
Lizbeth Reyna Delgado, a resident of Altoona, is set to graduate next month with an associate degree in a field that will ultimately lead her to a career in nursing. Her academic plans include enrolling in the WSCC/UAB joint enrollment program at Wallace State, which will allow her to simultaneously earn both an associate degree and a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her long-term goal is to work as a labor-delivery nurse and continue her education to become a nurse practitioner.
