Garden of Hope: Ponderay Rotary’s Annual Flower Basket Fundraiser is a cherished tradition that brings together the community in support of a worthy cause. Ponderay Rotary’s annual flower basket fundraiser is a long-standing tradition that has been delighting gardeners and philanthropists alike for five years running. The club’s members, including Tiffany Goodvin, have been hard at work creating a stunning array of hanging flower baskets that are not only a testament to their craftsmanship but also a symbol of the Rotary Club’s commitment to giving back to the community. The baskets are truly a sight to behold, featuring a diverse range of colorful flowers that are sure to brighten up any garden or porch. β€œYou would spend about $70 or more for this type of quality basket at a retail store,” Goodvin explained, β€œWe sell them for $45 which is a great value. Our members have put a lot of effort into creating these beautiful baskets, and we are confident that they will bring joy to our customers.”
The club’s scholarship program has been a cornerstone of Ponderay Rotary’s philanthropic efforts for 18 years, providing financial assistance to local high school graduates and students pursuing higher education. In 2024, the club distributed over $43,000 in scholarships, supporting the dreams of hundreds of young people. The annual flower basket fundraiser is an integral part of this program, helping to raise vital funds to support the club’s scholarship initiatives. The baskets will be available for pickup on May 7 in town, and interested customers are encouraged to place their orders through the club’s website (ponderayrotaryclub.com) or by mailing a check to: Ponderay Rotary Club, P.O. Box 813, Ponderay, ID 83852. β€œThe club enjoys this fundraiser because the customer is usually very happy to bring home beautiful flowers, and it reminds us that spring is here,” Goodvin added. In addition to the beautiful baskets, the Rotary Club has also established a scholarship program that is open to students pursuing vocational training and certifications.
